January 18: 2021 Releases I Was Excited to Read But Didn’t Get To
Since I made my January 25 TTT post in advance (New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2021), I am doing January 18th topic for today. Last year, I have noted some newly published books I wanted to read but never did since I prioritized some backreads. I needed to do this because I have lots of books. It is a first-world problem while living in a third-world country. I enjoy reading books despite not being fresh out of publication. Just to keep track of these books, I list them down or add them in my Goodreads account as “want to read”.
Here are some books which have made it to the list.

Among the books in this list, I am inclined to read Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins and Beautiful world, where are you by Sally Rooney. I loved most of my reads from them hence my hype to read their newer works. As for the others, I like them but not as much as the two that were mentioned. Also, I need to learn a faster way to read, if that is possible?
Thank you for reading,
-R
(noticed that it is still January 18, I will make the 18th TTT topic for next week)

I’m scared to read it because of the hype but the synopsis sounds good to me.

omg I was just about to write that I wanted to read Malibu rising and the sally rooney book and then those are the ones you want to read too!!! I haven’t read any Sally Rooney books yet but I watched the TV show and thought it would have made a farrrr better book than it did show, and Taylor Jenkins Reid has my love ever since I first read 7 Husbands haha

yup, I was not able to get to them last year which made them into this list. Hopefully, the later half of the read I would have read both books. As for the tv show (normal people?), I have not watched it but I can’t imagine it being better than the book. A lot of conflicting emotions were well described in the book. The emotional setting that the author built was so good. As a reader, it made me feel fragile and emotional in the end. The writing style is different but a few chapters in, it would not feel strange anymore. Hope you get to read it 🙂

The writing feels a bit off at the start but it does grow on you as the story progresses. Hope you enjoy it as much as I had.

Thats okay, there will be lots of time to read them. I did not read them since I prioritised some back reads. Now, I try to read a mixture of new releases (1 book) and backreads just to keep me updated on whats new.
