Stacking the Shelves is a meme that is all about the books that you are adding to your shelf may it be physical or virtual. It is a book meme is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews before and Reading Reality now. For the rules of the book meme please visit her site and join in the fun.
For this year, I have decided to put a maximum amount on the books I could buy for this year. I allow myself to buy 50 pcs of physical books. Ebooks and other mediums are not considered part of the 50 pieces. Book buying ban does not work for me hence my ultimatum. As of now, I have only bought 6 books. They are books which I had an eye on since before. Also, they are either sequels of a start to a series.

I like the concept of only allowing yourself to buy 50 books instead of an absolute buying ban, this might work! Just like for diets.. we all know that it’s when you are “not allowed” to do things that makes you wanna do them even more 😅

Yes, I’m treating it like a diet. It works for me because I can plan more with a limit. 🙂

Ofcourse! instead of not buying at all, you can be more conscious about the ones you do buy!

I’ve also set myself a buying limit rather than putting myself on a book buying ban! I set a maximum of 60 physical books that I purchase in 2022, which averages out to 5 books a month. So far I already purchased 5 books in January, and it’s going to be a bit of a struggle to get through this last week without purchasing any other books!
